Jason Harmer, CEO & Head of Projects
Jason comes to SHAPE from the Royal Navy, Shell Aircraft International and aviation consulting. During a varied flying career he instructed or examined on all the Royal Navy’s rotary types and enjoyed two tours on Standards organisations in the UK and Oman. While at SAI he learnt the need for strong Safety Leadership and the ‘Shell Way’. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Training and Occupational Learning (AdCiTOL), is a PRINCE2 Practitioner, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor and will shortly complete a degree in the Management of Safety and Occupational Health (BSC 2010). His next career goal is the award of Chartered Membership of IOSH which he will complete through a programme of CPD in Safety activities and learning.
Alan Munro, Chairman & Head of Commercial
Co-Founder of Shape.aero, Alan has spent his entire working life as a pilot. From his days in the RAF as a member of Tactical Evaluation teams he understood the value of and has passionately upheld Quality Assurance as a tool for monitoring and improvement, an understanding that has grown over his time as an A320 Captain, Flight Safety officer and senior manager. He has turned that understanding into a successful business with a fearsome reputation for delivery of key training and consultancy solutions within all sectors of aviation. He is leaning on his Europa.
Bob Green, Head of Compliance
Co-founder of Shape.aero, Bob has more than 30 years in the operational arena, including senior management positions with major European Airlines. He now specialises in quality management systems, regulatory requirements, procedures and standards, training and management. He has an in depth understanding of the airport/airline interface and ground handling sectors, and has managed and personally completed a huge number of audits across many different regulatory frameworks within aviation.
Mike Rowlands, Head of Safety
Mike has been responsible for designing and developing compliance management and monitoring systems in major flight and maintenance operations. He brings a wealth of experience from his many and varied positions in aviation, which have included responsibility for Quality Management, Safety Management, Emergency Planning, Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management. He was previously Director of Safety & Quality Assurance at Thomas Cook Airlines UK, and has also been an Associate Course Director for HM Cabinet Office Emergency Planning College.
Hugh Jones, Head of Certification
As an experienced airline Captain and Trainer, Hugh has a wide range of experience in aviation management over 30 years, holding a number of diverse senior management positions across a variety of world-wide operations. In addition he has been involved in setting up and managing flight crew training in North America, the Caribbean, North Africa and the Middle East. Hugh specialises in setting up AOC and TRTO operations along with flight crew selection and training. He was also responsible for setting up the flight crew training and recruitment for BA Open Skies. He is an experienced Training Captain and Pilot Examiner covering a wide range of aircraft including Embraer, DC 10, Boeing 737 all series and Airbus A320 series. He has acted as ‘expert witness’ in legal cases on behalf of insurers and he is also a Magistrate.
Rob Trayhurn, Middle East Representative
Having served in senior staff and logistical positions in surface ships and submarines for the Royal Navy, and holding positions such as Assistant Director of Public Relations (Navy), Rob has gained qualifications as a civilian pilot and flying instructor managng his own flying training business. He has worked for a major transportation group in both aviation and non-aviation areas, and most recently held the position of Director Safety Management for Jet2.com, developing quality and safety systems for the airline. He has now relocated to the Middle East, where he looks after Shape's interests
